Alliance Applauds U.S. Government for Release of Small UAS Rule

Reiterates Need for a Common European Drone Market

June 21, 2016 – Drone Alliance Europe applauds the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and American drone industry leaders on release of a final small UAS rule. The release of this rule offers encouragement and positive momentum towards the establishment of universal standards and a common drone market throughout Europe.

The Alliance will continue to advocate to Europe institutions for the establishment of common standards to authorize operations beyond visual line of site, operations over people, autonomous operations, and expanded testing throughout the continent. These forward-thinking policies are essential to realizing the full benefits of this dramatically expanding sector of the economy. The Alliance also reiterates its support for ongoing efforts by Dutch and Slovak presidencies, DG MOVE, EASA, and Parliament to advance a single European market for drones in 2016.
